Sunday Brunch and Discussion

January 18 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The subject matter for the discussion was inspired by the Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Swerve: How the World Became Modern by Stephen Greenblatt. It is the story of how the long epic poem “On The Nature Of Things,” written in about 50 BC by the Roman philosopher Lucretius, was lost for approximately 1000 years after it was suppressed when the Roman Empire adopted Christianity. It is said that the group that found the old manuscript comprised the first Humanists. “On The Nature Of Things” was based on the writings of the Greek philosopher Epicurus around 250 BC.
