In honor of Darwin’s Day, we will be sharing this lush video produced by BBC Earth. It recounts the extensive research and deep thinking that ensued after Darwin’s famous trip to the Galapagos. Twenty years elapsed between his first thoughts about natural selection and the publishing of his seminal work, The Origin of the Species. Those years were filled with family tragedy, soul searching and conflict with the Church, and hostility from other scientists. It is poignant that, even today, science sometimes is fighting to be heard and respected.
